This guide is intended to help with astronomy & astrophysics research at the University of Minnesota.
Start with:
- Astrophysics Data SystemFind scholarly and technical literature in astronomy, astrophysics, physics, and geophysics.
Then try any of the following:
- INSPIRE High-Energy PhysicsSearch scholarly information in high-energy physics, including articles, preprints, letters, and data. Search tools also include reference lists and citation metrics.
- Web of ScienceSearch for scientific literature in all areas of science. Includes reference lists and citation counts.
- ScopusSearch scientific literature in all areas of science and social science. Includes cited reference searching and citation counts.
- arXivThis is not a search tool, but is where nearly all astrophysics research is shared before peer review. Set up alerts to be notified of new preprints and articles in physics, mathematics, computer sciences, and quantitative biology.
Also check out:
- IEEE XploreFull-text access to the transactions, journals, magazines and conference proceedings of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Includes all current Active standards & redline standards. Draft standards are not included.
- NASA Technical Reports ServerTechnical reports on aerospace research, NASA documents since 1962, and NACA documents from 1915-1960.
- Inspec ArchiveHistorical articles in physics and astrophysics from 1898-1968.
