Reactions from MN Government Officials
MN Governor Tim Walz
Comment on Facebook on March 31, 2025:
Image of post on Governor Walz's Facebook page, 3/31/2025: "We have yet to receive adequate information from Homeland Security about the recent news of Minnesota students being detained by ICE. Snatching up students who come here legally to work hard and get an education does not make you tough on immigration. We need answers."
Minnesota State Senator Doron Clark, MN Senate District 60
Comment on Facebook on March 28th:
Image posted on State Senator Clark's Facebook page, 3/28/2025: "I am saddened and angered that ICE is operating around the University of Minnesota. Our campuses should be a safe place for all students, staff, and visitors. I am monitoring the situation closely, and encourage you to stay vigilant and well-informed. We must stand up against the Trump administration’s senseless demonization of our friends, family, and neighbors."
