Finding Articles
Looking Up Sources From Your Textbook
To look up references cited in your textbook, you can search for the title of the article in Google Scholar, or search for the article or journal title on the Library Home Page. If you use Google Scholar, be sure to use the link from this website so you get the "Find It at UMN" links to get to the full text.
- Google Scholar (Setup connection to get to PDFs)Use Google Scholar to find articles from academic publishers, professional societies, research institutes, and scholarly repositories from colleges and universities. If you are using from off-campus access, change the "Library Settings" to University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Look for the "FindIt@U of M Twin Cities" links in your Google Scholar search results to access full text and PDFs. Looking up Articles in Databases
The following databases will help you find articles on nutrition and health topics. You can use limits for age, sex, and date to narrow your results.
- PubMedSearches MEDLINE, which is the primary source of journal articles for the health sciences (fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, public health, health care systems, and basic sciences).
