Premodern Studies : International Medieval Bibliography

International Medieval Bibliography

The International Medieval Bibliography is automatically set to the Simple Search. While that can be perfectly adequate, you may want to choose the Advanced Search, which will give you more options

You can see the variety of choices!

Some of them appear rather evident, such as title, author, year of publication, etc. However, the three interesting options that you have the ability to use are Discipline, Area, and Centuries.

Discipline

Allows you to click a box to chose a topic to research, such as Classic Heritage and Humanism. Make sure that you click on the Insert/Close box in the upper right-hand corner to add the term to your search. And then click the Search button.

Area

You can get quite precise when choosing a geographical area. Click on the link to France & Switzerland, for example, and follow the tree to your specific area. Make sure that you click on the Insert/Close box in the upper right-hand corner to add the term to your search. And then click the Search button.

Centuries

Centuries is a powerful tool to allow you to chose the period of time that your search covers, e.g., 3d-4th.
