Notice: Candidate Filing open through Aug 10

The filing period to put your name on the ballot for local elections in Minnesota is open July 27 through August 10.  See below for candidate openings in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, and Ramsey County. A full list of Minnesota local elections is available through the Minnesota Secretary of State website.

Minneapolis open offices in 2021:

  • Mayor
  • City Council Member Wards 1-13
  • Park Board Commissioners At Large (3 positions)
  • Park Board Commissioners Districts 1-6
  • Board of Estimate & Taxation Member (2 positions)

The full list of Hennepin County offices on the 2021 ballot as well as information about how to file as a candidate is available on the Hennepin County website.

Ramsey County open offices in 2021:

  • Falcon Heights - City Councilmember
  • Saint Anthony - City Councilmember
  • Saint Paul - Mayor
  • Saint Anthony-New Brighton Area Schools I.S.D. 282 - School Board Member
  • Mounds View Area Schools I.S.D. 621 - School Board Member
  • Roseville Area Schools I.S.D. 623 - School Board Member
  • White Bear Lake Area Schools I.S.D. 624 - School Board Member
  • Saint Paul Public Schools I.S.D. 625 - School Board Member
