Accessing Pitchbook (including annual password reset)
Please note: Registration and access means you agree to use Pitchbook for academic, non-commercial use, only.
Please see University Libraries' Acceptable Use policy for further information.
Guest users may access the database by contacting busref@umn.edu at least two business days prior to your intended visit.
UMN Student, Faculty, & Staff Instructions
To gain access to Pitchbook, you will need to create your own account. You must be on campus and connected to the University's internet, or you will have to connect through the University's Full Tunnel VPN. You can find information about downloading the VPN here.
1. Starting at this link you will be asked to enter your UMN username and password (if you are not already logged in).
2. After entering those credentials, then you will see this PitchBook sign in page:
3. Select CREATE AN ACCOUNT
4. Fill in the details using your UMN credentials and hit CREATE.
5. You will receive an email at your @umn.edu email address to set up a password. This password should be different from your UMN password.
You should then have access to the database. When accessing remotely, be sure you are connected to the University's Full-Tunnel VPN.
All users will be required to reset their account after June 30 each year.
Instructions to reset password:
Follow the above instructions for Students, Staff & Faculty to set up a new account. Current users are not resetting their account, only passwords. All saved searches and charts will still be accessible after the password reset.
If you have trouble accessing the database, please send an email to busref@umn.edu.
Libraries staff will work with you to resolve the issue.
