OER Resources

For assistance identifying and locating OER relevant to your course, consider consulting with the Libraries. Because OER are available from many sources and shared at varying scales, finding OER specific to your discipline may take some searching. To begin the process, here are prominent and multi-disciplinary OER resources for your consideration. 

Textbooks

OpenStax

Hosted by Rice University, OpenStax has a wide selection of peer-reviewed OER textbooks. Many of these offerings include supplemental materials like Canvas coursepacks and quiz banks. All OpenStax texts carry a CC-BY license, permitting extensive adaptation. 

Open Textbook Library

Hosted by the University of Minnesota's Center for Open Education, the Open Textbook Library links to 1100+ open textbooks that are currently in use at higher education institutions. Many items have high-quality moderated reviews from university instructors.
