Click the link above to view the Libraries' resource page regarding funding. We recommend Pivot (subscription database) as a key tool - it includes federal, non-federal, and international agencies. When searching within funding databases, use broad keywords to search for the most opportunities (e.g., instead of transgender, try gender minority).

Opportunities at the University of Minnesota
- Steven J. Schochet EndowmentThe Schochet Interdisciplinary Dissertation Fellowship in Queer, Trans, and Sexuality Studies provides $22,000 to a PhD Candidate who is pursuing research in the areas of queer, trans, and sexuality studies. Applications for this fellowship are sought from persons of diverse backgrounds, particularly those from underrepresented and marginalized communities.
- Emerging Leaders in the Law (ELL) ProgramEmerging Leaders in the Law (ELL) is a program that seeks to increase equal access to justice for all people with the belief that in order to truly have equal access to justice for all people, all identities must be represented in the legal system -- from judges and attorneys to court staff and probation officers. The ELL program offers summer clerkships to eligible students.

- The Queer Foundation Scholarship FundThe Queer Foundation Scholarship Fund promotes writing by, about, and/or for queer youth. The Queer Foundation offers to the winners of an annual essay contest $1,000 scholarships to the U.S. college or university of their choice to study queer theory or related fields.
- GoGrad: Scholarships & Financial Aid for LGBTQ StudentsGoGrad, an online student resource focusing on graduate degree programs, maintains a list of open scholarship opportunities across disciplines.
- Out to Innovate™ Scholarship for LGBTQ+ Students in STEMThe National Organization of Gay and Lesbian Scientists and Technical Professionals (NOGLSTP) offer the Out to Innovate™ Scholarship for LGBTQ+ students in STEM. The scholarship is available to graduate and undergraduate students.
- PFund FoundationThe PFund Foundation invests in LGBTQ people across the lifespan in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Scholarships for individuals aged 17 years and older are available, and grants support academic programs, non-scholastic leadership development opportunities, and life expenses.
