This interface allows you to combine many (but not all) of the sources below into a single search.
- Access World NewsFull-text news from over 9,000 news sources in the U.S. and international newspapers, major wire services, and hundreds of local broadcasting outlets and blogs. There are over 100 Minnesota sources. Mostly English language news coverage with some 200 titles in Spanish, French, Afrikaans and other languages.
- FactivaSearch millions of newspapers, business magazines, and newswires with international and foreign language coverage with all editions of the Wall Street Journal. Financial information for publicly traded companies, stocks, funds, currencies, and common market indexes. Limited to 7 simultaneous users.
- International Newsstream This link opens in a new windowInternational news from newspapers, newswires, transcripts, and digital-only news sites in full-text format. Over 800 of the world's top news sources.
- WestlawNext Campus Research (News)Search thousands of news sources from the U.S. and around the world. Includes major newspapers, newswires, and foreign language news. Most sources include the latest 10-20 years, with select titles going back to the 1980s. This link goes directly to news content in WestlawNext; switching to "all content" in the database will include legal sources.
- World News ConnectionA service bringing news from around the world, translated into English, between 1995 and 2013. The information is obtained from newspaper articles, television and radio broadcasts, online sources, conference proceedings, periodicals, and non-classified reports.
- World Newspaper ArchiveWorld Newspaper Archive is a collection of historical newspapers published in Africa, Latin America, and South Asia throughout the 19th and 20th centuries. It provides excellent coverage of the people, cultures, issues and events that have shaped world history. Additional collections covering other regions will be added over time.

The emphasis is on the communist and third-world countries of this period. The JPRS Reports also contain a wealth of hard-to-find scientific, technical, and social science materials, translated from many languages.

- Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty (2000-present)This daily report provides expert analysis on major political events and trends in the former USSR (including the Central Asian republics) and Afghanistan, Iran, and Iraq. The service features daily news headline reports, twelve weekly reports on the region, and country-specific reports.
- Rand Daily Mail (South Africa, 1902-1985)Published daily in Johannesburg, the Rand Daily Mail pioneered popular journalism in South Africa. This online collection includes reporting from the Boer Wars to the apartheid era.
- RetroNewsFrom the National Library of France (Bibliothèque nationale de France), gives access to more than 2000 French-language newspaper titles published between 1631 and 1951. Also includes audio and video.
